Recently, GSI has completed the development of the Stormwater Master Plan of the city of Villarrica, which began in December 2013, a planning instrument that allows to meet the needs of the city to evacuate rainwater and establish their solutions in conjunction with local authorities and the community.
In the study, more than 1,500 elements were registered (chambers, sinks, discharges, intakes, etc.), more than 25 km of rainwater collectors and more than 30 km of channels and creeks.
In the development of this work, 6 Citizen Participation Meetings were held, 3 of them with the communities and 3 with public and private organisms of the city.
Finally, a total of 31 km of pipes were projected, 14 km of primary network with diameters between 500 and 1,800 mm and 17 km of complementary network with diameters between 300 and 400 mm, whose approximate amount of investments reaches 34,500 million of pesos ( 51.5 million US dollars).
