In January 2019, GSI Ingeniería delivered to the Empresa Portuaria Austral (EPA) the detail engineering of a new dolphin and mooring post to allow the berthing of a cruise ship of 290 meters in length (LOA).
This project was part of the expansion of a previous work also designed by GSI Ingeniería, which was approved by the Port Works Directorate and constructed in August 2017. That project consisted in the design of 6 structures that reinforce the existing dock, plus three structures, which are two dolphins and a mooring post, to allow the support of a ship of up to 250 meters in length.
With these projects, EPA is in a position to receive more and more vessels of greater dimensions.
