GSI Ingeniería, in line with its philosophy of continuous improvement and cutting-edge technology, has incorporated into its work in the maritime and port area the use of the Mike 21 software of the Danish Institute of Hydraulics (DHI), through the acquisition of permanent licenses for the following modules:
MIKE 21 FMHD – Hydrodynamic Model /MIKE 21 FMAD – Advection and Dispersion Model /MIKE 21 FMPT – Particles Tracking /MIKE 21 FMST – Sediment Transport /MIKE 21 EMS - Modelo de Generación de Oleaje /MIKE 21 BW - Boussinesq Model- Agitation /MIKE 21 SW – Spectral Wave Model /MIKE ANIMATOR – Results Animation
With this acquisition and the incorporation of new professionals to the area, GSI will strengthen its tools to carry out this type of analysis, particularly those associated with: characterizing the current pattern of a given sector; tsunami studies; design of marine outfalls; modelling brine discharges and thermal feather; characterize the transport of sediments in dredging works; optimize the morphology of port configurations; regenerate and design beaches; study the impact of coastal protections; design the stability of intertidal zones; study agitation and resonance conditions in port docks; simulate the growth, decay and transformation of the swell generated by swell wind and waves; among others.
